Social Service Trust (SST) is a Non-Governmental Organisation started in the year 1999 initially to address the issues of Puzhuthivakkam Ram Nagar and nearby areas. In further years SST expanded its services in the areas of Education, Women development, Child care, Environmental and Health care based on the needs. SST primarily works for betterment of the weaker section of the society. SST strongly believes in equality in standards of living is the basic right of every human being. COVID-19(2020-2021)

During the pandemic year 2020-2021, Our Trust performed various activities within the guidelines provided by TamilNadu Government with the help of Chennai Corporation.
Our Trust distributed Vegetables, Rice, and Provisions along with sanitizers, Masks and Gloves to Needy People. This service was performed from April 2020 to August 2020 on different dates covering the areas in and around Kancheepuram district. Total 22,000 Families were benefited by this distribution. With the support of Chennai Corporation, food were distributed to people living in Covid affected and declared containment zones of Puzhuthivakkam, Madipakkam,Velachery,Thoraipakkam.Many Volunteers from trust and general public supported in this distribution.
This was only possible through contributions from general public and trust managing committee.Important to mention about contribution by Zomato, under Zomato Feeding India Project they associated with United Way India and donated 18000 KG Rice and 3600 KG ChannaDal.Their Mission of No Hungry was achieved and it was distributed at the right time when many families were undergoing a difficult phase of loss of job due to Covid Lockdown.

Tele-Counselling for Senior citizens

Our Family Counselling Centre Counsellors conducted Tele-Counselling on Covid Awareness to Senior Citizens. Special counselling was conducted for Covid affected senior citizens during their two weeks of post recovery period with the support of Tamilnadu Social Welfare Board,about 3600 senoir citizens were benefited by this tele-counselling program. Senior Citizens appreciated the counsellors for speaking to them during their difficult times.

Medical Camp Awareness for Vaccination

Our Trust along with Greater Chennai Corporation conducted medical camps for Covid-19 Vaccination. Around 10 camps were organized and the general public of the area were benefited through this camp. Medical Camps for the age group of 18 – 44years and 45 years and above were organized, approximately 2000 people were benefited by this camp.
